PARENT, TEACHER, STUDENT ASSOCIATION (PTSA)

PTSA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run by parents that:
• enhances children’s school experience through specialized programs
• informs and supports students’ families
• connects us to our community
• encourages school spirit through programs, events and school clothing

PTSA fundraises via Gift Catalog Sale and Membership to pay for PTSA sponsored programs such as Fall Festival, Passport Day, Allstar Readers/ ROARS and Bingo Night, to name a few! Email Parent Connection to get involved!

SEBASTOPOL EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (SEF)

SEF is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) fundraising organization run by parents working with school staff in the Sebastopol Union School District.  During the ‘0607 school year, $85,000  ($82 per student) was given to Park Side, Pine Crest and Brook Haven!

SEF fundraises via a Pledge Program, Calendars, Auction, eScrip and Art Jam to supplement classroom supplies and field trips, as well as existing programs including sports, drama, school events and the Rainbow programs.  SEF also supplements Parcel tax funding for art, music, library, and technology, and distributes funds via Teacher Grants.

DISTRICT ENGLISH LEARNER ADVISORY COMMITTEE (DELAC)

DELAC is a group of parents and school staff who advise the School Board regarding programs & services for English Learner students. Each school also has a school-focused group of parents and staff called ELAC. DELAC and ELAC meetings typically are held jointly at alternating school sites during the year. DELAC & ELAC do not have a funding source

  SCHOOL SITE COUNCILS

The school Site Council is a group of teachers, staff and parents that works with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. The state usually provides School Improvement Program (SIP) funds to support the goals of the school plan.

REACH PARENT FOUNDATION (RPF)

The REACH Parent Foundation (RPF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization setup to raise funds for the Sebastopol Creative Arts Magnet Program via donations AND to create a close, supportive community - where parents know and feel comfortable with each other and each other's children. RPF provides regular events for parents to meet and talk about issues of common concern and by creating a robust and supportive parent volunteer structure to support students and teachers.

CLASSROOM HELP

Teachers encourage parents to help in the classrooms on a regular basis. Sign-ups usually occur around Back-to-School Night. Questions? Ask a teacher for more information.

SCHOOL HELP

Parents are welcomed and encouraged to help in the school libraries, playgrounds, sports, gardens and at many other school-wide events. Interested? Contact a school office: Park Side (829-7400), Pine Crest (829-7411) and Brook Haven (829-4590).
